In a significant development towards enhancing a lasting peace on the Plateau, The All Progressives Congress (APC) has Recommends Joint Effort In Combating Banditry In Plateau state following the recent attacks that claimed ten lives in Kopnale in Mangu and Mandar Shar in Bokkos Local Government Areas of the State.
The party holds that combating terrorism and other forms of banditry can only occur when there is a shared understanding, purpose, and resolve.
In a statement issued by Mr. Shittu Bamaiyi, the Acting Publicity Secretary of the APC expressed concern over the recent attacks stating that “We are deeply worried by the unprovoked attacks, killings and maiming of innocent citizens across the State by some marauders for quite sometime now”.
For this reason, the reported killings of some persons are upsetting and unacceptable.
The party said, “The renewed destruction of lives and property is very disturbing, hence the need for concerted efforts in fighting the menace”
While sympathising with those who have lost loved ones, the party is urging all well-meaning residents of the State to join forces with the administration in combating these enemies of peace and progress.
