April 24, 2025, will be etched in the memories of the women of Bwonpe for a long time to come. On this day, renowned philanthropist Mr. Obed Dihis, from Ampang, Mangu LGA of Plateau State, donated over 305 wrappers to widows during a women’s fellowship event in Bwonpe, Mangu LGA.
Accompanied by distinguished dignitaries, including HRH. Da. Ado Shehu Dapiya, Acting District Head of Ampang West, and HRH. Da. Chief Clement Wetkur, District Head of Bwonpe, Mr. Dihis’ generosity was a testament to his compassion and commitment to giving.
This remarkable act of kindness is not an isolated incident. Mr. Dihis has consistently demonstrated his dedication to philanthropy, having previously donated over 600 wrappers in Ampang district.
During the event, Mr. Dihis acknowledged the presence of the district heads and congratulated the women for their devotion to prayer, particularly for the nation’s leaders. He also conveyed the greetings of his principal, Dr. Patrick Dakum.
In his remarks, Mr. Dihis emphasized that “giving is not charity, but gospel” – a principle rooted in biblical teachings. This selfless mindset has driven his philanthropic efforts, inspiring countless individuals and communities.
HRH. Da. Clement Wetkur, District Head of Bwonpe, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Dihis, describing him as a “worthy son of Ampang West.” He noted that while Ampang and Bwonpe are home to many affluent individuals, few possess the generosity and kindness that defines Mr. Dihis.

- Building a primary school in Bidol
- Constructing a pastor’s residence in Bidol
- Donating bundles of zinc to the late pastor’s wife of Ampang
- Paying school fees for numerous youths
- Donating over 600 wrappers at Ampang West
The event concluded with prayers from Rev. Plangkyes Collins and other clergy members, who blessed Mr. Dihis for the donation of wrappers.
