The Governor of Plateau state, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang has appointed acting heads for the various institutions the day after dissolving the governing council of Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, and the head of state-owned tertiary institutions, including Plateau State University.
Professor Lazarus Maigoro, provost of the Gindiri College of Education; Dr. Jonathan Bulus, provost of the Zawan College of Health Technology; Dr. Markus Avong, provost of the Pankshin College of Health Technology; Professor Shedrach Best, vice chancellor of PLASU; and Dr. Clement Chirman, rector of the Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin Ladi, are among the acting heads.
The Plateau State Government’s Secretary, Samuel Jatau, announced that the newly appointed individuals would begin working immediately. “They must immediately take action by investigating the school’s revenue and expense sources,” stated Jatau. It’s still unclear if the goal of this directive is to look into the financial records of the former heads, who were chosen during the previous government.
