The Mutfwang Gida-Gida Campaign Organisation has begun mobilising support across Plateau State for the re-election of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with a pledge to take its campaign directly to communities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The organisation said it would leverage its grassroots structures across the state’s 17 local government areas to promote the achievements of both administrations, sensitise voters and strengthen support for APC candidates.

The commitment was made on Thursday, November 5, 2026, during the official flag-off of its 2027 mobilisation campaign at Tamarald Event Centre, JIB Junction, Old Airport Road, Jos.

The event brought together government appointees, political stakeholders, local government coordinators and executives of the organisation across the 17 LGAs, alongside representatives of more than 10 support groups.

Coordinator of the organisation, Apostle Ellam Tanko Chalahan, said Gida-Gida was established in 2022 to mobilise support for Governor Mutfwang and would continue to complement the APC’s political activities through direct engagement with voters.

He dismissed suggestions that the organisation was operating a parallel political structure, insisting that its objective was to strengthen the party by taking its message and achievements to the grassroots.

Chalahan said the organisation would work with the APC, other support groups and the campaign council to secure victory for Mutfwang, Tinubu and other party candidates in 2027.

He described the governor’s administration as people-oriented, citing its efforts in peacebuilding, infrastructure and human development as reasons for seeking its continuation.

He challenged members to move beyond social media campaigns and engage voters directly, urging eligible residents to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and participate in the electoral process.

The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Prince Miaphen, described the Mutfwang administration as youth-friendly, commending the governor for appointing young people into his cabinet.

He urged youths across the state to reciprocate the gesture by supporting the governor, President Tinubu and other APC candidates in the forthcoming elections. He also donated ₦2 million in support of the movement.

Similarly, the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor, Hon. Jiritmwa Goyit, charged the mobilisers to make the achievements of the administration the centrepiece of their campaigns.

Reinforcing the administration’s performance message, Hon. Daniel Mutfwang said the governor had recorded significant progress in education, road infrastructure, housing, environment and sports.

He argued that the impact of government projects mattered more than commissioning ceremonies, noting that residents were already benefiting from newly constructed roads and boreholes in communities that previously lacked access to water.

Daniel also highlighted ongoing water infrastructure projects, including the ₦37 billion Lantang Dam, Laminga Dam and Shendam water supply scheme.

He said the planned water reticulation project would provide approximately 200 kilometres of pipework across Jos and Bukuru when completed.

The North Central Women Leader of the Tinubu Support Group, Mrs Mary Adamu Osoji, urged political appointees to demonstrate genuine concern for the people, particularly at the grassroots, saying stronger relationships with communities would improve political mobilisation.

Hajiya Aishatu Muhammed Adam also commended Governor Mutfwang for his support for women and called on women and youths to sustain their mobilisation efforts and protect their votes during the 2027 elections.

On his part, Hon. Sunday Abdul urged supporters to take the achievements of the Tinubu and Mutfwang administrations to both rural and urban communities.

The ceremony featured the unveiling of state and local government coordinators and affiliated support groups, who pledged to extend the mobilisation campaign across the state.

Speaking of behalf fo all coordinators, The Coordinator of Barkin Ladi, Hon. Kaneng Gyang Fulani, who spoke on behalf of coordinators across the 17 LGAs, appreciated members for their commitment and support, urging them to sustain their collective efforts towards achieving the organisation’s objectives ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Women leaders and other coordinators also called for greater inclusion of women, youths and people with informal education in government appointments.

A documentary showcasing projects and achievements of the Mutfwang administration was presented, while cultural performances added colour to the event.

The organisation said the flag-off marked the beginning of an expanded grassroots campaign aimed at consolidating its structures and securing support for APC candidates across Plateau State in 2027.
