Senator Diket Satso Plang, representing Plateau Central Senatorial District, has called on his constituents to remain united and rally behind responsible leadership, saying political differences should not be allowed to undermine the development of the people.
Plang made the call during his Thank You Tour of the senatorial district, where he visited communities and political stakeholders to appreciate them for their support and reaffirm his commitment to their welfare, security and development.
Addressing constituents, the senator said the tour was an opportunity to personally appreciate the people for standing by him while also presenting an account of his efforts in the constituency.
He assured the people that he would continue to support initiatives capable of improving their lives, particularly in the areas of security, employment and empowerment.
“Security remains one of our greatest concerns,” Plang said, promising to provide Hilux vehicles to strengthen security operations and improve the capacity of relevant security structures to respond quickly to threats across the constituency.
The senator also appealed to youths to reject politics of insults, hatred and personal attacks, urging them to embrace politics driven by ideas, peace, unity and service.
“We must rally to support leadership and work together for the progress of our people,” he said, urging constituents to support leaders who prioritise quality governance and the welfare of the people.
Plang also called on his supporters to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope agenda, as well as the re-election bid of Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.
He urged politicians to place the interests of the people above personal ambition, saying the true measure of leadership should be quality administration, service delivery and the ability to improve the lives of citizens.
His message received commendation from traditional rulers, local government officials and APC leaders who spoke during the tour, with several of them highlighting what they described as his interventions in employment, agriculture, security and humanitarian support.
The Executive Chairman of Bokkos Local Government Council, Hon. Amalau Samuel Amalau, represented by his Deputy, Hon. Mahwel Wallangko, commended Plang’s support for constituents, citing employment opportunities, fertiliser distribution and relief materials, as well as motorcycles provided to support security efforts.
Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Mangu Local Government Area, Hon. Emmanuel Bala Mwolpun, represented by his Deputy, Hon. Nuhu Yakwen, described Plang’s interventions as a legacy of service to the people.
Yakwen particularly commended the senator for facilitating employment opportunities for constituents, recalling that one of his constituents recently secured employment with the Nigeria Customs Service through Plang’s intervention.
The APC Chairman in Mangu LGA, Hon. Tijjani Yelwa, also commended the senator for his commitment to the people and urged constituents and party members to remain calm, united and steadfast in their support.
The President of the Bokkos Local Government Traditional Council, HRH Lawrence Amadam Aizat, appreciated Plang for his engagement with traditional institutions and his concern for the welfare and security of the people.
Similarly, the Mishkagham Mwaghavul, HRH Da John Putmang Hirse, represented by HRH Da Josiah Jungshwan, commended the senator for his commitment to the development of Plateau Central.
The traditional ruler urged the people to support and sustain initiatives that would benefit present and future generations, while praying for God’s continued guidance and success for Plang in his service to the people.
