Plateau creatives have paid a condolence visit to the family of late award-winning filmmaker and Nollywood producer, Dimbo Atiya, following his death.
Atiya died on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), after a brief illness.
The visit brought together friends, colleagues and members of the creative community who gathered to sympathise with the bereaved family and honour the memory of the late filmmaker.
During the visit, the creatives expressed their condolences to the Atiya family, describing his death as a painful loss to the creative community and the state.
They also recalled Atiya’s contributions to Nigeria’s film industry, particularly his work in filmmaking, storytelling and mentoring emerging talents.
The gathering provided an opportunity for colleagues and friends to reflect on his career and celebrate the impact he made during his lifetime.
The creatives said Atiya’s legacy would continue to live through the people he inspired, the talents he mentored and the creative works he left behind.
They prayed for the repose of his soul and asked God to grant his family, friends and colleagues the strength to bear the loss.
