The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Barkin Ladi (Gwol) State House of Assembly in the 2027 general election, Hon. Hitler Joshua Pwajok, has vowed to end what he described as the politics of empty promises, assuring constituents of purposeful and result-oriented representation.

Pwajok made the pledge shortly after receiving his certificate of candidacy from the party’s Turaki-led Interim National Working Committee.

He described the moment as a major achievement in his political journey and expressed confidence that the PDP remains the right platform to deliver good governance.

“This is a very joyous moment for me as a candidate to represent the good people of Barkin Ladi. First, let me start by appreciating God because the journey started like a dream,” he said.

The PDP flag bearer said his ambition is rooted in service, selflessness and a desire to ensure that the people of Barkin Ladi enjoy quality representation.

He identified insecurity and youth unemployment as major concerns requiring urgent legislative attention.

“What is due for the people of Barkin Ladi is gotten and taken to them. To ensure that at every level, we are active partners with the people of Barkin Ladi to move the local government forward,” he stated.

Pwajok also criticized politicians who make campaign promises but fail to deliver after assuming office.

According to him, the people deserve leaders who are accountable and committed to development.

“I know a lot of people are tired of it. Politicians normally come and make promises. But for Barkin Ladi, I can guarantee that it is not going to be business as usual.”

He said he was seeking election not to occupy a seat but to make a meaningful impact on the lives of his constituents.

“It’s either you perform or you are being shown the exit door. At this point, I’m not ready to be shown the exit door because I’m here to stay. I will definitely do my best and ensure that Barkin Ladi gets the right representation it totally deserves,” he declared.

The PDP candidate also praised the leadership style of former Plateau State Governor Jonah David Jang, describing his legacy of selfless service and development as worthy of emulation.

Pwajok expressed confidence that under the current PDP leadership, the party’s candidates would offer a united, progressive and people-centred alternative for Plateau State and Nigeria.
