A governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State, Alfred Dapal Damiyal (ADD), has called for unity, peace, and mutual respect among party members ahead of the party’s governorship primary election.
Dapal made the appeal in a message addressed to PDP faithful, leaders, elders, women, youths, and stakeholders across Plateau State as preparations intensify for the 2027 elections.
The aspirant expressed gratitude for the support, encouragement, and sacrifices shown by party members during his consultations across the three senatorial zones of the state.
According to him, the overwhelming support and prayers from party faithful have strengthened his determination to continue offering himself for service under the vision of “NEWTHINKING” for a safer and more prosperous Plateau State.
“Your voices, prayers, and support have strengthened my resolve to continue offering myself for service under the banner of NEWTHINKING for a safer, united, and more prosperous Plateau,” he stated.
Dapal described the forthcoming PDP governorship primary as a family process that should not divide members of the party.
“This primary election is not a contest of enemies, but a family process within our great party,” he said.
He urged supporters and stakeholders to conduct themselves peacefully, respectfully, and in the spirit of sportsmanship and brotherhood throughout the exercise.
The governorship hopeful also called on party members to stand for competence, conscience, and capacity in choosing the party’s candidate for the 2027 election.
“I urge all members of our great party to stand for conscience, competence, capacity, and the shared vision of building a stronger Plateau State where every citizen has a sense of belonging and opportunity,” Dapal added.
He further extended appreciation to fellow aspirants for their contributions to the growth of the PDP, stressing that the party must remain united after the primary election regardless of the outcome.
“At the end of this process, there must be no winners or losers within the PDP family only a united party determined to reclaim and reposition Plateau State for greatness,” he said.
