Hon. Pharm. Chun Ezekiel John has concluded his awareness and consultation tour at Kakpwis Federal Ward in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State as part of efforts to engage constituents ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The aspirant for the position of Member representing Barkin Ladi–Riyom Federal Constituency used the visit to interact with party faithful and community members, seeking support for his ambition and presenting his vision for effective and people-centered representation.

During the tour, Hon. Pharm. Chun Ezekiel John thanked supporters in Kakpwis Federal Ward for their loyalty and steadfast support over the years, noting that even after previous setbacks, they remained committed to his vision and political journey.

He said the growing support across the constituency shows that the time has come for a new direction, adding that his ambition is driven by service and not personal gain or political status.

“We are not seeking election for self-enrichment or fame. We are ready to go to the National Assembly and change the dynamics from transaction to service,” he said.

Chun further stated that he has the experience, network, and understanding of the National Assembly needed to deliver results immediately, assuring constituents that he would focus on security, development, and extending the benefits of democracy to communities across the federal constituency.

Speaking on behalf of the APC Federal Ward Chairman, the Ex-Officio, Hon. David Markus, expressed joy over the visit of Hon. Pharm. Chun Ezekiel John, describing him as a proud son of Kakpwis who has returned home to declare his ambition to represent Barkin Ladi–Riyom Federal Constituency.

He commended the aspirant’s record of service and achievements in previous public roles, noting that his experience and contributions have made the people proud. Markus also prayed for his success and urged constituents across Barkin Ladi to support his aspiration.

Also speaking, Da Isa Chungwom Song expressed happiness over the aspiration of Hon. Pharm. Chun Ezekiel John, describing it as a welcome development for the people of Kakpwis Federal Ward and the wider constituency.

He urged residents to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to enable them participate in the election, while recalling that it has been 22 years since Kakpwis last produced a member of the House of Representatives in 1999. He further called on the people to come out in large numbers to support Chun’s ambition.

The Former Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Dr. Emmanuel Loman, said Kakpwis Federal Ward is blessed to have Hon. Pharm. Chun Ezekiel John as an aspirant, describing him as a worthy son of the area. He urged residents to take the forthcoming elections seriously and mobilize in support of the aspirant to ensure his victory at the polls.

Close ally, Pharm. Kim Jerry Bot, Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Drugs and Medical Commodities Management Agency (PS-DMCMA), said the growing support for Hon. Pharm. Chun Ezekiel John reflects renewed hope among the people, especially the youths.

He praised the unity within Kakpwis Federal Ward and commended Governor Caleb Mutfwang for giving young people opportunities to serve, noting that CJ has shown resilience, leadership, and commitment to delivering democratic dividends to the people.

Speaking on behalf of stakeholders, Hon. Nash Adamu, former Leader of the Barkin Ladi Legislative Arm, said Hon. Pharm. Chun Ezekiel John has gained wide acceptance across Barkin Ladi–Riyom Federal Constituency. He urged residents to rally behind the aspirant and consolidate their support to secure the parliamentary seat.

The community leader of Kakpwis, Gwom Shut Gwom, said he believes in Hon. Pharm. Chun Ezekiel John because of his determination and consistent support for the people, expressing confidence that if given the opportunity, he would serve the constituency beyond expectations.

The APC Woman Leader of Kakpwis Federal Ward urged women in the area to rally behind Hon. Pharm. Chun Ezekiel John, calling for full support of his aspiration. She also appealed to the aspirant to prioritize women inclusion and empowerment if elected, expressing hope that his leadership would bring greater opportunities for women in the constituency.
