General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, has emphasised the necessity for a people-centric leadership philosophy as part of his commitment to ensuring improved cooperation between the Nigerian Armed Forces and the civilian community.
The defence minister remarked on Monday while addressing students in Senior Course 46 of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Kaduna State, in a lecture titled “Nigeria’s Security and Defence Policies: My Leadership Concept for the Armed Forces.”
He claims that the strategy will aid in tackling current and upcoming security issues brought on by terrorists, bandits, secessionists, and other criminal groups endangering the nation’s continued corporate existence.
The opponents must submit or prepare for all-out war, he said, citing the current security difficulties as requiring that the Nigerian military forces work in unison and with communities and individuals to fight the enemies of the state.
Gen. Musa pledged Nigerians that no area of the nation would ever again be overrun by criminal elements and that moving forward, all military operations will be cooperatively carried out with all parties involved, including the populace.
The chief of the military staff believes that the armed forces are ready and determined to succeed as a team, thus the current security problems can be overcome.
