The Senate of the University of Jos (UNIJOS) has elected Professor Joshua Pam Chollom as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics).
The election took place during the 1st Special Senate Meeting for the 2025/2026 academic session held on Monday, 12th January 2026.
Professor Chollom is a Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Natural Sciences, with specialization in Numerical Analysis.
He hails from Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Nigeria.
Professor Chollom is a seasoned academic and administrator who has served the University in several capacities, including as Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences.
He is also a member of the Academic Board of the National Mathematical Centre, Abuja, highlighting his contributions to academic development at the national level.
His emergence as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) is expected to further strengthen academic planning, research, and quality assurance at the University of Jos.
