The city of Jos has been gripped by anger and disappointment following reports of the alleged rape of young online sensation, Bethel, popularly known as Kawa Mai Goshi. The incident, which surfaced on social media earlier today, has generated widespread reactions and calls for justice from the public.
Many residents have expressed deep concern over the heartbreaking situation, describing it as a tragic development that demands urgent investigation. Social media platforms have since been flooded with messages condemning the act and demanding that the perpetrators be brought to justice.
It could be recalled that some individuals had earlier forced Kawa’s management to discontinue her online content creation. They accused the management of exploiting the young talent for financial gain without providing adequate care for her welfare.
However, following the alleged assault, many people have argued that such an incident might not have happened if Kawa had remained under the supervision of her management team. They claimed that her handlers had provided better care and protection compared to her biological parents.
Critics have also accused those who interfered with Kawa’s management of contributing to her current ordeal. According to them, the decision to separate her from her team exposed her to greater risks and instability.
Kawa’s health challenges had earlier attracted the attention of the Plateau State Governor, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, who, through his Senior Special Assistant on Creative Engagement, Barr. Ezra Jinang, donated N250,000 to support her treatment and pledged continued assistance.
The governor’s previous intervention had been widely praised as a reflection of his administration’s commitment to supporting young talents and protecting vulnerable children across the state.
Following the alleged rape, concerned citizens and advocacy groups are now urging the government and security agencies to launch a thorough investigation and ensure that justice is served for Kawa. Many have also called for renewed efforts to safeguard the welfare of children in the entertainment industry.
