The Senate has confirmed Bernard Doro as a minister following his nomination by President Bola Tinubu. He becomes the third ministerial nominee from Plateau State.
During his screening, Doro outlined his vision to build an inclusive humanitarian ecosystem guided by impartiality and independence.
He pledged to create strong synergy between security agencies to better target and support people affected by crises.
Doro also emphasized the use of technology to improve humanitarian response and coordination across the country.
After a brief questioning session, senators expressed satisfaction with his qualifications and capacity to serve, asking him to take a bow and leave.
His appointment follows the resignation of Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, who is now the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Born on March 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Doro holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, and an MBA in IT-driven business strategy.
He has over two decades of experience in the United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS) and has been involved in youth mentorship and social impact initiatives both abroad and in Nigeria.
