Former Member representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos, has paid a condolence visit to the Bindi Tahoss community in Riyom Local Government Area following a recent attack that claimed several lives and left many houses destroyed.

During the visit, Bagos donated bundles of zinc and woods to assist families in roofing their burnt houses, saying the gesture was part of his effort to stand with the community in their moment of grief.

Bagos emphasized that beyond the donations, his visit was also to encourage the people not to give up hope, stressing that history must not be forgotten and the search for justice must continue.

He said “this is history that we should not, for political reasons, allow it to just die down. But, continue to see and to still dream, in government, that something has happened here. And, we’re still looking and waiting for those that have perpetrated this act. Because our continuous visit will have continuous questions.”

Bagos raised concern over the slow pace of justice, noting that no arrests or convictions had been made despite the killings. He wondered why perpetrators of such acts were still walking free months after the incident.

He called on government and security agencies to intensify efforts in fishing out the attackers, insisting that justice must be served to deter further violence in communities across Plateau State.

His Royal Highness, Pastor Kimnan D. Manja, the traditional ruler of Tahoss (Bindi by extension), commended Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos for his visit and donation of zinc and timber to assist victims whose houses were burnt. He also acknowledged the presence of the governor and federal representatives, noting that recent changes in security leadership had led to the recovery of over 300 cattle and sheep, which brought some relief to the community.

The monarch, however, stressed the need for sustained action to secure the area and ensure justice. He called for stronger cooperation between local and state authorities and urged that the state be given more authority over security matters to respond swiftly to such incidents.

Rev. Davou Musa expressed deep trauma over the attack, revealing that nine members of his household and 27 of his church members were killed, while his house was also burnt down. He said there has been no direct intervention except for temporary shelters provided by the local and state governments, adding that many people are now in IDP camps, children are out of school, and families remain devastated. He appealed to the governor and NGOs for urgent support.

Ngo Kangyang Audu, the woman leader of the community, appreciated Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos for showing concern over the tragic incident. She also commended his continuous advocacy for lasting peace in Plateau State and Nigeria as a whole.

Da James Dachung, Senior Adviser in the palace, commended Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos for his timely visit and the relief materials he provided to the community. He said Bagos has shown himself as a true voice for the people of Tahoss, assuring that whatever he seeks, he shall achieve. He further urged the community to vote not just for political parties but for individuals who genuinely support and stand with them.
