The 2025 edition of the prestigious Zere Berom cultural pageant has come to a colourful close with Miss Nerat Blessing Doro from Kuru emerging as the winner. She triumphed over 11 other contestants to clinch the Zere Berom crown, She displayed not only beauty but also cultural knowledge, intelligence, and elegance.

In the musical contest, Japhet Noro Pam, a renowned Nigerian singer, popularly known as Jaff Pee, stood out among three contestants to become Gwom Lwele Berom 2025. His artistic presence, charisma, and deep-rooted cultural expression earned him the prestigious title, further solidifying his influence both in music and cultural circles.
The event, which celebrated Berom culture and heritage, was filled with vibrant traditional displays, music, dance, and fashion. The organizers commended all participants for their courage and passion in promoting Berom identity and values.

During the event, Da Prof G.G. Dangata, speaking on behalf of the Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Gyang Buba, praised the successful contest and sent blessings to the youth and organizers. He also prayed for God’s guidance ahead of the upcoming grand finale on Friday.

The former Senate minority leader, Sen. Simon Mwadkwon, who is Chairman of the Organizing Committee, applauded the success of the event and the spirit of unity displayed by participants and guests. He also appreciated the judges for their fairness and rewarded all contestants with a consolation prize.
“I saw Prowess in progress, I saw gallantry in action, and I saw resilience. That’s what the theme of this year is all about. We have to dignify our wives, our grandmas, our daughters,” he said, urging respect for women in all cultures.

The President of the Berom Educational and Cultural Organization (BECO), Mr. Gyang Dudu, expressed admiration for the newly crowned Gwom Lwele, Japhet Noro Pam, highlighting his musical talent and potential for greatness. He emphasized the need for mentorship, vowing to personally support and guide the young artist to ensure his talent is not wasted.

The President of the Berom Youth Moulders (BYM), Barr. Solomon Mwantiri, praised the cultural relevance of the Zere Berom event and emphasized the importance of sustaining youth engagement through such platforms. He commended the contestants for their courage and urged Berom youths to remain focused, united, and proud of their heritage.




The event also featured captivating music, comedy, and poetry performances that thrilled the audience. Notable appearances included Ben Heavens, Gwom Lwele 2023; Abel Tok, Gwom Lwele 2022; Daff Dee, MC 2.5, Dex Dee, Mary Jane, Melvin, Jetwilton, and Bobbery, all of whom added colour and excitement to the cultural celebration.
Winners of the pageantry are expected to serve as cultural ambassadors for the year, participating in community development activities and campaigns aimed at preserving and promoting the rich traditions of the Berom people.
