The First Lady of Plateau State, Her Excellency Barr. Mrs. Helen Mutfwang, has spearheaded a major empowerment drive under the Renewed Hope Initiative Women Economic Empowerment Program, aimed at uplifting 500 women across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.
The program is designed to equip women with essential tools to boost their businesses and improve household livelihoods.
As part of the initiative, the First Lady distributed 125 generator sets, 125 solar grinding machines, 125 modern gas cookers, and 125 freezers to beneficiaries. These items are intended to provide reliable power for businesses, support entrepreneurship, enhance catering convenience, and aid in food preservation.
The distribution, coordinated by the First Lady’s office, is part of a larger partnership with Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, the First Lady of Nigeria. The program reflects a shared vision to strengthen the economic independence of women and improve their overall well-being.
The initiative highlights the Plateau State government’s commitment to fostering economic empowerment and supporting sustainable development, particularly for women. By equipping women with practical tools, the state seeks to encourage entrepreneurship and bolster small-scale businesses across all 17 LGAs.
This empowerment drive is a strong indication of the state’s focus on ensuring that women play a vital role in the economic progress of their communities, helping to create a more stable and thriving environment for all.
