Off the Celia album comes “Us (Interlude),” a song addressing the marriage and divorce of Tiwa Savage and Tunji Balogun.

“Falling… all the leaves are falling.

Should have seen the warnings. A new season’s coming.”

Those are the opening lyrics of “Us“, an interlude on Tiwa Savage‘s just-released Celia album. In a tweet posted several hours ago, Tiwa Savage confirms what some may have suspected; it’s a song about the breakdown of her marriage with former manager, Tunji Balogun aka TeeBillz.

Of all the songs on the well put together Celia album, this has to be the most emotionally charged record.

“So many times, we lie for us. And mama pray for us. Still not enough.”

“It wasn’t enough… I wasn’t enough… you weren’t enough… love wasn’t enough.”

Produced by Pheelz, listen to “Us (Interlude).”
