Super Falcons striker, Asisat Oshoala has been ruled out of the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations which is being hosted in Rabat, Morocco.

The news of the striker of the Barcelona women’s football team was confirmed by the team’s doctor before the Falcons’ second group game against Botswana. Oshoala suffered an injury in the second half of the game against South Africa which was later dictated as a Grade 2 ligament injury.

The injury to Africa’s Woman Player of the Year will give room for the team’s youngster, Monday Gift, who emerged as the highest goal scorer in the just-concluded Women’s League

The 9-time Africa Champions lost their opening group game 2-1 against the Bayana Bayana of South Africa on Monday, July 4th, 2022. The Falcons will hope they can get maximum points against Botswana today, Thursday, July 7th, 2022, as they continue their quest to win their 10th African title.
