One of the well known Polish American fantasy web series, The Witcher is soon expected to come up with its second season on Netflix. It has been developed by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, that is based on the famous book series by Andrzej Sapkowiski, under the same title. It was first premiered on 20th December 2019 and has been into the limelight since then. It has received tons of positive reviews along with a strong viewership over a short period. The series has received an average rating of 7.5 out of 10.

The plot follows the Legend of Geralt, the witcher, and princess Ciri who are destined to be together. Geralt being a monster hunter, tries to fit into the world where humans are more complicated and monstrous than the beasts. It is set in the medieval landmass, known as the ‘Continent’.

Is There A Release Date For The Upcoming Season?

Nothing has been announced regarding the release date of the second season by any of the official sources. The series was renewed for the second season back in 2019, even before the first season was aired. The second season is expected to drop sometime in December 2020, as the previous season aired in December 2019. But due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the production was put on hold for a very long time. Unless the production resumes in full length, nothing can be speculated about the release date.

Although some of the inside sources have revealed that the upcoming season might be dropping in summer 2021. The pre-production has supposedly resumed since early August 2020. It has not been confirmed by the official sources yet. We hope to get further updates soon and until then, if you haven’t already watched the series, surely give it a shot.
