Super Eagles second choice goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa may not have played any match at the world cup in Russia but he’s gotten a souvenir many players and individuals would have wished to lay their hands on.
After the game against the Argentina side with the Super Eagles narrowly lost by a late Marcos Rojo goal, the Nigerian goalkeeper was captured requesting Argentine star and 5 time Ballon d’Or winner for him match Jersey. Messi who scored the opener for his side obliged Ezenwa as he took off the Jersey and handed it to the Nigerian at the Entrance of the tunnel.
There have been mixed reactions concerning the incident as many people believe he should have focused on reflecting on Nigeria’s loss. But that will surely be of little bother to Ezenwa, not everyone gets the opportunity to play with one of football’s greatest on the same stage.
