The recent press statement by the APC Plateau State Chapter, signed by Shittu Bamaiyi, is a blatant attempt to mislead the public and undermine the undeniable progress made by the PDP-led administration under Governor Caleb Mutfwang. Rather than engaging in constructive dialogue, the APC has resorted to misinformation and political theatrics/propaganda to mask the failures and incompetence that defined its eight years of disastrous misrule.

Hon. Yusuf Gagdi’s claim that the APC-led federal government has an 80% presence in Plateau is highly misleading. Despite inheriting severe financial challenges, the PDP-led administration has made tangible progress—clearing backlog salaries and pensions, which Governor Mutfwang rightfully considers a workers’ right, not an achievement. Additionally, the government has invested in agriculture, improved healthcare, enhanced public transportation, and prioritized infrastructural development to uplift the state.

APC’s list of “federal projects” is more of a wish list than actual completed initiatives. For example:

Federal Polytechnic Nyak, Shendam – Yet to take off fully.
Orthopedic Hospital Jos – Recently approved but still in its infancy.
Jos Campus of Law School (Riyom) – Announced but far from being operational.

For the APC to suddenly wake up and claim these projects as their landmark achievements when most remain incomplete or were initiated by previous administrations is the height of hypocrisy.

Their attack on Hon. Dachung Bagos for refuting Gagdi’s claims only reveals their fear of accountability. Hon Bagos though unjustly removed from the 10th House of Representatives has remained active in championing and echoing the voices and yearnings of plateau people. He has demonstrated that indeed he’s the people’s representative.

While the APC engages in propaganda, Governor Mutfwang remains focused on restoring security, rebuilding public trust, and revamping critical sectors. In less than a year, his administration has achieved more than the APC did in eight years.

Instead of spreading falsehoods, the APC should take responsibility for its failures and allow Plateau people to enjoy the progress being made under the PDP government.
