Chief Abraham Tonjing, the Secretary to Riyom Local Government Council, has formally resigned his membership of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).
The resignation was contained in a letter dated January 4, 2026, and addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman of Shonong Ward in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
In the letter, Chief Tonjing expressed deep appreciation to the PDP for providing him with the platform and opportunity to participate actively in politics and to contribute to the party’s growth and governance at different levels.
He explained that his decision to leave the party followed careful reflection and was influenced by personal conviction and prevailing political developments.
Chief Tonjing also wished the PDP success in its future activities, while praying for peace, unity, and sustainable development in Plateau State and the country at large.
The resignation letter was signed by his Personal Assistant and Media Aide, Tyop Yusuf Dangyang.
