The Pateau State Government has commenced the training of 100 accounting and finance officers of Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the state on the operational use of Plateau State Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (PLAGIFMIS) platform. The training is organized by the Plateau State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA) in collaboration with the Office of the Account General of the State. This is part of efforts to fully automate and digitalize financial transactions in line with the e-Governance policy drive by administration Gov Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.

Declaring the training open, the Director General of PICTDA, Engr Dominic Datong Gwaman highlighted the importance of the training and the significance of automating financial transactions of government. He stressed that the training is expected to have significant impact on governance in the state going forward.
Datong charged participants to pay attention, concentrate, learn and asking questions while experts and personnel of PICTDA will be available to assist them where necessary.

In his remark, the Director Tressury Operation, Office of the Account General Mr Dauda Ezekiel Daschen, who representing the Accontant General of Plateau State highlighted the importance of transparency in reporting financial transactions using the PLAGIFMIS platform and hence stressed the role the training will play in transiting Plateau State from analogue and paper based transactions to the digital and ICT driven process, which according to him is faster, transparent and more efficient. He said that using this platform will allow government, national and international organization to see the tranparency of government in the state in the longrun.
Daschen also announced that participants at the training will be the first generation of civil servants to be onboarded on the use of the PLAGIFMIS platform, hence alot will be required of them after the training.

The training facilitation is being done by Growth Stack, the consultant working on the PLAGIFMIS platform in conjunction with staff of PICTDA. Participants from the various MDAs are expected to have hands-on simulations to perfect their knowledge of the platform, its operation and use.
Recall that earlier in the year, the Plateau State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA) in collaboration with the Office of the Account General of the State had interfaced with Accounts and Finance Officers across Ministries Departments and Agencies on plans to automate financial dealings and transactions in the day-today running of government in the state through the Plateau State Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (PLAGIFMIS).
The training is the materialization of the outcome of that interface. The training is holding in two badges of 50 participants each, with the first badge of training holding from Tuesday to Wednesday 25th and 26th March 2025, while the second badge will hold from Thursday to Friday 27th and 28th March 2025 at the Samaritan Hotel, Jonah Jang Way, Opposite New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos.
