Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, yesterday approved the resignation of the Secretary to the Government of the State, SGS, Hon. Rufus Bature.
Our correspondent reports that Bature recently resigned his appointment to enable him to contest for the seat of Senator of Plateau North Senatorial District in the 2019 elections.
This was contained in a statement signed by Mark Longyen, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media Publicity and made available to newsmen in Jos.
The statement further reads that consequently, the Governor has approved the appointment of Sir Richard Tokma to replace him as the Acting SGS immediately.
Until his appointment, the new Acting SGS was the Permanent Secretary, Policy & General Services in the office of the SGS.
Similarly, the Governor has also approved forthwith the resignation from office of the Hon. Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Hon Hitler Dadi.
Dadi also recently resigned from office to enable him to contest for the position of Member, Federal House of Representatives, Langtang North and South Constituency in the 2019 polls.
While thanking the duo for their invaluable services to the state generally and, particularly, for their immeasurable contributions to the success of the ‘Rescue Administration’ in the past three years, the Governor wished them best of luck in their political aspirations and future endeavors.
The Governor also appreciated other appointees who had similarly resigned to pursue their political aspirations.
