In order to protest the arrest of the district head and some locals in connection with the murder of the local Fulani leader, Adamu Idris, hundreds of women blocked the Jos-Shendam Highway early on Tuesday in the Panyam town of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Outrage has been generated by Idris’s death, which occurred on Saturday as he was returning from a visit to the district chief of the area.
The Operation Safe Haven security task force, which keeps the state peaceful, was arrested by the ladies in protest.

Many people were stranded, causing automobiles to have to execute a U-turn, which was difficult for motorists.
In the villages of the Mangu LGA, there have been a number of confrontations between farming communities and pastoralists in which many people have died.
