The Transition Implementation Committee Chairman of Riyom Local Government Council, Hon. Sati Bature Shuwa on Friday 16th February, 2024 sworn in other Members of the Transition Implementation Committee with a charge on them to align themselves fully with “The Time is Now” vision of the Governor Caleb Mutfwang-led administration which he said is aimed at achieving a united, peaceful and prosperous State.

Hon. Sati Shuwa urged them not to work at cross purpose with the present administration of Governor Caleb Mutfwang but work as a Team to achieve prosperity for the People of Riyom Local Government Area and Plateau State at large.

He promised to carry them along as he work to attract infrastructural development to the Seventeen Wards and impact the Citizens through laudable programmes and activities.

He admonished them to prioritise the collective interest of the Citizens of the Local Government Area above any primordial sentiment by driving development, attracting democratic dividends and entrenching good governance at all times in line with the strong philosophy of the present administration in the State which is poised toward enhancing the lives of the Citizens of the State.

He further stressed the need for them to conduct themselves decently, imbibe team spirit and discard those things capable of jeopardising the vision of the present administration.

According to the Chairman “Since he assumed office, the Governor has been demonstrating exceptional leadership and transforming the State as seen in his developmental strides as well as his commitment towards achieving a united, peaceful and prosperous State which has been the dream of well meaning Citizens of the State. Since he is redefining governance in the State and changing the narratives for good, it is incumbent on all of us, his Appointees to key into his vision for a better State and Citizens. Governor Mutfwang mean well for the State and we’ll support him to take the State to enviable height”

He urged the Citizens of the State to set aside their differences and give the Governor the needed support to succeed in transforming the State and stimulating the economy which he said have the propensity to make lives better.

Rt. Hon. Timothy Dantong former Deputy Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Davou Baget and others who spoke admonished the Appointees to see their selection as call to serve humanity and shun tendencies capable of affecting good governance.

Speaking shortly after their inauguration, the Supervisory Councillor for Works, Hon. Samuel Dongo appreciated Governor Mutfwang for finding them worthy to serve the people at the third-tier of government and promised they would justify the trust and confidence reposed in them with optimal performance.

Hon. Gwong Gywa Song is to oversee Administration Department, Hon. Danbwarang Ibrahim takes charge of Special Duties and Security, Hon. Dongo Samuel Dauda is to superintend the Works Department of the Council, Hon. Noro Davou is to pilot the Social Services Department as Supervisory Councillor and Hon. Wycliff Tertullus Wanson was assigned the Water and Sanitation Department.

Others are: Hon. Samuel Luka who is to man the Budget and Planning, Hon. Wayo Bakwap was assigned the Agriculture Department and Hon. Margaret Danbwarang who takes charge of the Health Department.

The Event which held at the Council’s Hall was well attended by Stakeholders, illustrious Sons/Daughters of the Area, Party Executives, Supporters and well wishers.
