The Plateau State Ministry of Transport, in collaboration with the Plateau State Internal Revenue Service (PSIRS), Plateau State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA), and Access Solution Ltd, has officially commenced the enumeration and registration exercise for Special Trade Businesses across the state.
In a statement by the Commissioner of Transport, Hon. Davou Jatau Gyang and issued by the Director of Transport Operations, Engr. Bitrus Daniel David, the initiative aims to enhance service delivery and strengthen the relationship between the government and businesses operating in the transport and automotive sectors.
According to the statement, the exercise specifically targets businesses categorized under the special trade sector, which include driving schools, mechanic garages, car dealers, transport companies, spare parts dealers as well as car vendors, adding that it is to ensure a smooth registration process.
The statement reveals that additional registration points have been set up at the
Plateau State Internal Revenue Service Office;
VIO Testing Ground, Old Airport Office;
Bukuru VIO Office; and the VIO Office, Post Office.
It assures all participants that the enumeration and registration exercise will offer numerous benefits, such as official recognition of businesses by the Ministry of Transport,
opportunities to interface directly with government agencies, tailored support for business growth and development, and enhanced service delivery for businesses in the special trade sector.
The statement encourages the Business owners to seize this opportunity to secure their place in the government’s database, noting that it will ensure a more robust support system and better access to growth opportunities within their trade.
Speaking on the exercise, the Director of Transport Operations emphasized that the initiative underscores the Plateau State Government’s commitment to driving growth, improving business operations, and fostering a stronger relationship between the government and stakeholders in the transport and automotive industries, and advised them to visit any of the registration centers or contact the Plateau State Ministry of Transport for proper registration.
This enumeration exercise marks a significant step towards creating a more organized, recognized, and empowered business ecosystem in Plateau State.
