The Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo had visited the site of the collapsed building, expressing condolence with families that lost their loved ones.
The Acting President went in company of Secretary to the Government, Boss Gidahyelda Mustapha and the Minister of the Federal Capital territory, Alhaji Muhammad Musa Bello.
Recall that a four-storey building, collapsed in the Jabi area of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, killing two people while many were trapped. The men of National Emergency Management Agency, the Nigeria Police and other security agencies, working at the scene to rescue lives of those trapped.
It was gathered that the collapsed building was built with substandard materials.
Osinbanjo commiserated with the victims of the incident.
“This evening, I visited the site of the building that collapsed in Abuja.
“My heart goes out to the family that lost someone today. There are no words to describe how you must be feeling.
“On behalf of this nation, please accept our sincere condolences.
“To all of the people who were injured, we wish you speedy recovery.
“Thank you to officials of the FCT Fire Service and NEMA for conducting rescue operations quickly. Your actions saved lives today, thank you so very much.”, he tweeted.
Also, former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar has extended condolence to families of the victim of a build that collapsed yesterday in Abuja.
Reacting to the incidence, Atiku, wrote on his Twitter page, thoughts of condolences to victims of the incident.
“My thoughts and prayers are with families of all those affected by the tragedy of the collapsed building in Jabi area of Abuja. May they be comforted?”, he wrote.
