Over the past year, your administration has demonstrated a rare blend of vision, resilience, and commitment to fulfilling the social contract with the people of Plateau State.
Despite initial challenges, your tenure has been marked by transformative achievements across multiple sectors, reinforcing the belief that The Time is Now. The tangible impact of your leadership is evident in the daily lives of our citizens, and we take this moment to celebrate some of your remarkable accomplishments.
APPOINTMENT OF YOUNG VISIONARY LEADERS & YOUTH INCLUSIVENESS
Your administration has made history by appointing young, visionary leaders in key government positions—a first of its kind in Plateau State. This commitment to youth inclusiveness has infused governance with fresh perspectives, innovative solutions, and a renewed sense of purpose. By empowering young leaders, you have inspired the next generation and laid a sustainable framework for long-term development.
SECURITY OF LIVES AND PROPERTY
The security and well-being of Plateau State residents have significantly improved under your administration. Your personal engagements with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and security chiefs in Abuja have led to enhanced security measures in the troubled areas of Mangu, Barkin-Ladi, Riyom, Bokkos, and Bassa. Your dedication to visiting Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) shortly after assuming office showcased your deep concern for the plight of our people. The revitalization of Operation Rainbow and the appointment of a security expert as your Special Adviser on Security have further contributed to restoring peace and stability in the state.
ROAD AND INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT
Your administration’s proactive approach to road rehabilitation and infrastructure development has greatly improved mobility and economic activities. The completion and ongoing construction of key roads—including Farin-Gada to Gada Biyu, Polo Roundabout to Police Headquarters, Gold and Base Roundabout to Rayfield—and the revitalization of railway lines in the Jos-Bukuru metropolis demonstrate your commitment to modernizing Plateau State and unlocking its tourism and economic potential.
WORKERS’ WELFARE AND CIVIL SERVICE REFORMS
Your efforts in clearing five months of inherited workers’ salaries amounting to over N11 billion have brought much-needed relief to civil servants. Additionally, the phased payment of gratuities, pensions, and death benefits dating back to 1985 highlights your administration’s respect for the labor force. The implementation of hazard allowances for health workers, along with the review of employment processes in the public sector, has set a new standard for efficiency and fairness in governance.
EDUCATION
The revitalization of the education sector has been another significant achievement under your leadership. Your government’s financial intervention in Plateau State Polytechnic and Plateau State University Bokkos prevented the loss of accreditation for critical programs. Additionally, your advocacy at the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has attracted funding to rehabilitate schools affected by conflicts. The revival of student scholarships and bursaries further underscores your commitment to human capital development.
AGRICULTURE
Recognizing agriculture as the backbone of our economy, you have prioritized initiatives that directly impact farmers. Your administration’s distribution of 200 trucks of fertilizer, the ploughing of 900 hectares of farmland, and the mobilization of ASTC resources to support displaced farmers have revitalized agricultural activities in the state.
ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION AND WASTE MANAGEMENT
Under your leadership, a state of emergency was declared on the environment, leading to the rejuvenation of the Plateau State Environmental and Sanitation Agency (PEPSA). The reintroduction of monthly sanitation exercises and enforcement of waste management policies have significantly improved the cleanliness and aesthetics of our urban centers.
HEALTHCARE ADVANCEMENTS
The health sector has witnessed a turnaround with significant investments in medical infrastructure, personnel training, and emergency response systems. The impending launch of the Plateau State Emergency Medical Services and Ambulance System (PLASEMSAS) will further enhance emergency healthcare delivery. Your administration’s partnership with international organizations to renovate and equip health facilities has elevated the quality of medical services available to our citizens.
STRENGTHENING GOVERNMENT AGENCIES
From the Plateau State Hospitals Management Board to the Drug and Medical Commodities Management Agency, your administration has instituted reforms that have improved service delivery across government institutions. The purchase of critical medical equipment, expansion of health facilities, and enhancement of financial transparency in state hospitals have significantly benefited the people of Plateau State.
PRIORITIZATION OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT)
We urge your administration to prioritize Information Technology (IT) to drive digital transformation in governance, education, and business sectors. Enhancing IT infrastructure and digital literacy will accelerate economic growth, create job opportunities for the youth, and position Plateau State as a leader in technological advancement.
SUPPORT FOR YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS IN THE STATE
We appeal for your administration’s support for young business entrepreneurs in the State through financial assistance, mentorship programs, and enabling policies to foster innovation and economic growth. Strengthening local businesses will fortify the state’s economy and provide sustainable employment opportunities for the youth.
ESTABLISHMENT OF A TECH HUB FOR PLATEAU STATE CREATIVES
To further boost economic development and innovation, we call on your administration to support Plateau State creatives by establishing a state-of-the-art Tech Hub in collaboration with global partners. This initiative will nurture local talent, attract investors, and position Plateau State as a hub for digital entrepreneurship and technological advancements.
ENGAGEMENT IN MORE PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS (PPP)
We encourage your administration to actively engage in more Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) to enhance infrastructure development, job creation, and economic growth. Collaborating with private investors and development partners will ensure sustainable progress in key sectors such as technology, education, healthcare, and agriculture.
PROMOTION OF THE MUSIC INDUSTRY
Jos is known for its rich musical heritage. Your Excellency, we urge you to attract investors to establish a world-class music studio to harness and develop more local talent. Such an investment will strengthen the creative industry, provide employment, and elevate Plateau State’s position on the global music stage.
RESTORATION OF JOS INTERNATIONAL BREWERIES (JIB)
We also appeal for the restoration of the Jos International Breweries (JIB), a significant economic and cultural asset. Reviving this institution will boost industrial growth, create employment, and enhance the state’s revenue generation.
