The 13th regular meeting of the National Council on Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy (NCCIDE) successfully concluded with a communique in Jos. The event ran from December 8th to 12th, 2025.

Council members from 10 states attended, alongside Permanent Secretaries from state ministries of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economies.

Officials from federal and state government ministries, departments, agencies, and representatives from NGOs, civil society, and the private sector were also in attendance.

The meeting received a total of 114 memoranda, reflecting proposals and insights from various stakeholders.

Out of the 114 memos presented, 80 were approved for implementation, 11 were noted, and 23 were stepped down for further consideration.

One of the highlights of the council was the State Innovation Peer Review Session (PRS), which allowed states to showcase their achievements in digital transformation.

The session promoted cooperation and knowledge-sharing among states on ICT development initiatives.

Awards were presented to recognize outstanding performances. Anambra State emerged as the best overall performer in ICT development.

Anambra State also won the award for best State in ICT human capital development.

Dampara State was recognized as the best in pre-government ICT implementation.

The council expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency Barista Kala Monastery Mokwan, for hosting the 13th NCCIDE meeting.

The council concluded by reaffirming its commitment to advancing Nigeria’s digital economy through innovative policies, strategic technology adoption, and collaborative efforts among federal, state, and private sector stakeholders.
