The Executive Chairman of Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State, Hon. Pirfa Jingfa Tyem, has formally resigned from the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).

Hon. Tyem made this known in a resignation letter dated December 28, 2025, addressed to the Ward Chairman of the PDP in Kuffen A Ward, Langtang North LGA.

In the letter, the council chairman announced his decision to withdraw his membership from the party with immediate effect, citing irreconcilable differences with the party’s internal operations.

According to him, the decision followed “careful reflection” and was informed by observed inconsistencies within the party, which he said no longer align with his political ideals, principles, and expectations.

Despite his decision to leave the PDP, Hon. Tyem expressed appreciation to the party for the opportunity to serve and for the experiences shared over the years. He also thanked the leadership and members of the party and wished them success in their future endeavors.

The letter was duly acknowledged by the PDP ward leadership, with copies forwarded to the PDP Langtang North Local Government Secretariat and the PDP Plateau State Secretariat.

Hon. Pirfa Jingfa Tyem’s resignation marks another significant political development in Plateau State’s local government politics, as he remains a serving council chairman and a prominent political figure in Langtang North.
