Sen. Jeremiah Useni, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship flag bearer for Plateau State says the party is considering a court action against the government and electoral umpire in the State over last week’s Local Government elections which were declared in favour of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Useni told MKB in Jos, Tuesday that he was personally uncomfortable with the conduct of the elections and would not allow such as Governor of the State.
“I will not allow anyone who does not win an election to be declared as the winner,” he said.
He vowed to ensure due process and compliance to laid down rules in the administration of the State in the interest of democracy.
Useni had earlier issued a statement condemning the declaration of APC candidates as winners of the elections in 13 Local Government Areas with the exception of Langtang North and Mangu LGAs where the elections were declared inconclusive.
In the statement published by MKB last weekend, the Senator Plateau Southern Senatorial zone in the Nigerian National Assembly accused Governor Simon Lalong of the state as encouraging impunity, injustice and breakdown of peace.
