The Plateau State Head of Service, Hon. Stephen Pam Gadong, has called on civil servants in the state to embrace a stronger work ethic as they resume duties after the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Gadong made the call in a statement welcoming workers back to offices, stressing that discipline, punctuality, and commitment are critical to effective governance.

He assured workers of sustained welfare, noting that promotions will be carried out as and when due, while salaries will continue to be paid without delay.

The Head of Service reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang to creating an enabling environment for productivity, citing the renovation of the J.D. Gomwalk Secretariat and provision of essential working tools.

Describing the civil service as the engine room of government, Gadong urged workers to take ownership of their responsibilities and contribute meaningfully to the implementation of the 2026 budget tagged “Budget of Consolidation and Sustainability, 2.0.”

He emphasized the need for civil servants to report to work on time, close appropriately, and avoid postponing official duties.

Gadong thanked organised labour and the entire workforce for their past support and cooperation, expressing optimism for improved synergy in advancing the goals of the “The Time Is Now” administration.
