The 31-year-old Armenian footballer stated that there was a time Jose Mourinho confronted him at breakfast and criticized his performances for Manchester United. Henrikh Mkhitaryan arrived at Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund where he played under Jurgen Klopp in Germany before he left. His performances then for the German giants forced Jose Mourinho to go for his signing, but he failed to shine during his time with the Red Devils.

“Once Mourinho saw me at breakfast and said to me: ‘Because of you, the press criticises me’. “I replied: ‘Really, mister? I’m not doing it on purpose,”. Henrikh Mkhitaryan told Yevgeny Savin according to Daily Star UK.
“My relationship with Mourinho was the most complicated in my career; he is a winner by nature,” he added. But despite his troubled seasons at Manchester United under Jose Mourinho, Henrikh Mkhitaryan won three trophies and even scored in the Europa League final. He was eventually sold to Arsenal in what was a swap deal for Manchester United to get Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez whose career did not also last with the Red Devils. Alexis Sanchez failed to get his good form at Manchester United in which fans became mad at him before been sent to Inter Milan on loan. Jose Mourinho on the other hand was sacked by Manchester United chiefs in December 2018 and they replaced him with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Solskjaer started his career well at Manchester United sending Paris-Saint-Germain out of the Champions League which was an impressive result. Meanwhile, Manchester United are currently occupying fifth position on the Premier League table with 42 points after 28 games played this term.
