On Saturday, gunmen assassinated a Fulani chieftain, Adamu Gabdo, in Plateau State’s Mangu local government area.

Until his death, the 70-year-old was the Ardo of Panyam in the Mangu LGA.

Nuru Abdullahi, the state chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), confirmed the occurrence to journalists on Sunday.

He claimed that the dead was kidnapped by the attackers on his way back from the District Head of Panyam.

The killing, however, has not been confirmed by the state police headquarters.

In recent weeks, criminals have increased their attacks on Plateau State.

On August 11, gunmen attacked two villages in the state’s Barkin Ladi local government district, killing at least 20 people and injuring many more.
