Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has called for a renewed focus on harnessing Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to drive Plateau State’s development, emphasizing its potential to transform sectors like education, innovation, and sustainable growth.

Governor Mutfwang made this known during a significant 2-day visit to Sweden, a high-level meeting with global stakeholders, advocating for stronger partnerships that could support the state’s socio-economic advancement.

Governor Mutfwang highlighted the critical role ICT can play in addressing challenges facing the state, particularly in modernizing education and creating job opportunities for the youth. He pointed out that technology-driven solutions could enable the state’s people to compete globally, while fostering long-term growth. “ICT is not just an enabler; it is a driver of inclusive growth and development,” the governor said.

During the discussions, Mutfwang emphasized the need for innovative approaches to bridge the digital divide in Plateau State, noting that improved access to technology could transform local businesses and open up new economic opportunities. He urged both public and private sector leaders to collaborate on ICT-driven projects that would benefit communities across the state.

The governor also expressed optimism about how enhanced ICT infrastructure could streamline governance, improve public service delivery, and accelerate development in rural areas. He pointed out that integrating technology into governance would allow for greater efficiency and transparency.

These discussions are expected to attract investments and foster collaborations that will place Plateau at the forefront of Nigeria’s ICT and innovation landscape, helping to create a brighter future for its residents.
