Barr Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the governor of Plateau State, strongly condemned the recent attack on the Zurak hamlet in the Bashir District of the Wase Local Government Area on Monday, May 20, 2024, by escaping bandits.
Governor Mutfwang expressed profound grief for the terrible loss of innocent lives, calling the attack totally despicable and unjustifiable. He clarified that this kind of violence jeopardises continuous attempts to ensure the safety of locals, particularly farmers who are going back to their fields.
The governor reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to protecting all communities, including Jos, the state capital, and gave the public the assurance that security forces had been mobilised to restore order in the affected region.
He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to working with law enforcement to proactively address security risks and urged the public to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity right away.
In addition to expressing his sympathies to the families of the deceased, Governor Mutfwang urged cooperation among all parties involved in order to promote communication and stop more tragedies.
Additionally, he asked for everyone’s assistance in promoting harmony and prosperity throughout the state.
