The Jos Joint Traditional Council condemns in totality the recent brutal attack on helpless and innocent natives of Yelwan Zangam in Yelwan Zangam village of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.President of the Council and the Gbong Gwom Jos His Majesty Da Jacob Gyang Buba expresses shock that the attack on such a peaceful community was carried out within the odd hours where there was supposed to be restriction of movement due to the curfew imposed by Government to safeguard lives and properties of its people.

In a statement signed by his Media Secretary, Alex Rwang Pam, says the Traditional Council views these attacks within the State capital and those that have persisted within Plateau North Senatorial Zone as a deliberate move by the perpetrators of the attacks and their sponsors to thwart efforts of government, security agents and other stakeholders in the restoration and sustenance of peace in the state.

It further calls on the state government, law enforcement agencies and particularly the Inspector-General of Police Special Tactical Squad to swiftly ensure that they unmasked for prosecution those behind these attacks with the view to earn confidence of the populace as justice is served as well as to deter other groups nursing similar criminal intents.

The Joint Traditional Council commensurate with families of victims of these acts, the Anaguta Nation and people of the state over the loses, while also appealing for calm over the unfortunate incident, assuring that the traditional council is resolute in seeing that deliberate steps are taken to end these unprovoked attacks on lives and properties of its people.
