Comrade Domshak Ezekiel Gwanle has formally joined the race for the position of Chairman of the Plateau Youth Council (PYC) in the forthcoming election. His candidacy is fueled by a deep commitment to revitalizing the council, which he believes has been inactive on key issues affecting young people in Plateau State for the past three decades.

Speaking about his motivations, Comrade Gwanle highlighted the need for the Plateau Youth Council to become more vocal and effective in addressing the concerns of the youth. “For the past 30 years, the Plateau Youth Council has been largely inactive on issues that directly impact young people in our state,” he stated. “As a young person, I feel obligated to speak out on these issues, to articulate the yearnings and aspirations of our youth, and to see how we can bring about meaningful change.”

His vision for the PYC includes creating platforms that will empower young people across the state. He plans to focus on building the capacities of the youth, enabling them to take active roles in governance, economic activities, and social development. “We need to develop the potential of our youth so they can aspire to become great leaders,” he emphasized.

Comrade Gwanle is particularly passionate about strengthening the economic, social, and moral capacities of young people, believing that such efforts will produce leaders capable of driving the change needed in Plateau State. “By strengthening their capacities—economically, socially, and morally—we can produce leaders who will effect the necessary changes that our state needs,” he added.

As the election draws nearer, Comrade Gwanle’s message of empowerment and active engagement is resonating with many young people in Plateau State, positioning him as a strong contender for the chairmanship of the Plateau Youth Council.
