The Riyom Local Government Chairman, Hon. Mafeng Gwallson has described the fumigation exercise in Plateau as timely.
Hon Gwallson made the statement on Today, Saturday 11th April while monitoring the state fumigation exercise which moved to his local government in Riyom.
You will recall that the Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalon on Friday, officially flagged off the fumigation exercise which is expected to take place in the 17 local government while the state is observing a total lockdown for 7 days. Today the fumigation team from ASTC was in Riyom as the exercise continued.

In an interview with Online Media Reporters, The Local Government Chairman appreciated the State Governor for extending the fumigation exercise to the grassroots stating that the fumigation will help in decontaminating many public places and houses as he was willing to partner with ASTC to ensure houses fumigated since it is affordable, also urging those with the capacity to ensure they fumigate their houses for enhanced public health.
Leader of the Fumigation Exercise and CEO/MD Agricultural Services and Training Centre (ASTC), Dr. Susan Bentu said they were in the area to carryout the directive of government aimed at decontaminating the locality through fumigation which she said is a State-wide exercise.
She went on to appreciate the general public for their cooperation and compliance to the lockdown and also commended the efforts of the State Governor, Barr. Simon Lalong for the concern on general citizens are health.
