In a bid to cut the cost of financial administration, particularly verifying details around salaries and to significantly reduce the paper work and processing time for the issuance of documents such as pay slips, etc, the Plateau State Government through the Plateau State ICT Development Agency (PICTDA) has launched the ‘Pay Plateau App’ in collaboration with Smart Apps IT Ltd for civil servants in the state.

This initiative has been described as one of the strategies of the Executive Governor of Plateau State Barrister Caleb Mutfwang to ensure that the state is a digitally enabled state. This was dislclosed by the Director Genenral of the Plateau ICT Development Agency (PICTDA) Engr Dominic Datong Gwaman who was speaking to journalist at the sidelines of the event where the Pay Plateau App was launched.

The event which held at the Banquet Hall, New Government House Little Rayfield, Jos on Thursday 26th had in had in attendance the Head of Civil Service Mr Stephen Pam Gadong, Honorable Commissioner for Finance Mrs. Dongkum Grace Shwarta, Accountant General of the State Mrs Nanret Asabe Mangset, the DG PICTA Engr Dominic Datong, General Manager Plateau Express Services Samuel Gwott among many other top government functionaries.

While officially launching the Pay Plateau App, Head of Civil Service Mr Stephen Pam Gadong, thanked Governor Mutfwang for driving technological innovations within the Civil Service. Represented by the Permanent Secretary General Administration, Office of the Head of Civil Service Mr Musa Nyam, the Head of Service noted that Governor Mutfwang was doing alot to make things easy for Civil Servant through the launch of the Pay Plateau App and other IT initiatives.

There were goodwill messages from top government functionaries earlier mention who took turns to commend PICTDA for such a laudable initiative, while also appreciating Gov Mutfwang for his foresight.

In his remark, the CEO Smart App IT Ltd Mr Godwin Odoma thanked Governor Mutfwang and his cabinet for giving Smart App IT Ltd the opportunity to provide services for the state, stressing that the company will do her best to deliver.

Highpoints of the event was the official launch, unveiling of the Pay Plateau App and simulation to Salary Officers and Liasons from all Ministries, Department and Agencies who are expected to help provide technical support to Civil servants within their respective MDAs.

The Pay Plateau App which can be easily downloaded from the Google Play Store is a digital solution where civil servants can easily access relevant financial documents such as Pay Slips and verify payment without physically visiting the salary office, a process which usually takes time and tedious processes to access. Civil servants can access services on the app by using their unique Civil service verification number along with other personal information.
