As Nigeria braces for a significant nationwide protest against bad governance, the Living Streams of Hope and Peace Building Foundation has issued a statement acknowledging the public’s right to voice their grievances.

Mr. Michael Kurams, the Executive Director of the foundation, praised the determination of Nigerians to seek justice and accountability. “Your concerns are valid, and your determination to seek justice and accountability is commendable,” Kurams stated.

Kurams emphasized the importance of maintaining peace during the protests. He urged Nigerians to ensure their demonstrations are non-violent, warning that violent actions could undermine the legitimacy of their demands. “It is imperative that we engage in peaceful protests, marching from one point to another, articulating our grievances and our vision for a better Nigeria without resorting to violence or destruction of property,” he said.

The foundation specifically appealed to residents of Jos, Plateau State, encouraging them to set an example for peaceful demonstrations.

Kurams further highlighted that a strong and resolute call for justice and good governance can be made without being destructive. “Our message will resonate more powerfully if it is delivered without violence,” he added.

In his concluding remarks, Kurams called for unity and respect among protesters, urging them to reflect the Nigeria they aspire to build.

The Living Streams of Hope and Peace Building Foundation hopes that through peaceful and determined efforts, the nation can achieve the change it seeks.
