The Nigerian cosmetics industry has welcomed an innovative manufacturer with the official launch of Nammy Social Skin Glow Product, founded by Naomi Yabisu of Kanam Local Government Area in Plateau State.
Naomi’s brand promises to change skincare for Nigerians by telling a genuinely authentic story and adhering to natural beauty.
The Chief Executive Officer for Nammy Social Skin Glow Product, Naomi Yabisu has always had a deep love for skincare products.
Naomi experienced personal skin issues, especially during the harmattan which motivated her to study and create skincare products.
In an exclusive interview with Ruby Gyang, she stated that “It was incredibly bothersome because my skin was so dry throughout harmattan. “I started my journey by attempting to solve my own problems,” Naomi said at the unveiling launch party. Naomi sought to create opportunities by incorporating external knowledge, demonstrating resilience and determination.
Nammy Social Skin Glow Product is a unique line of products that preserves and enhances natural skin tones without harmful lightening or bleaching techniques. These Products undergone laboratory testing by the National Agency For Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC), and have been approved.
As revealed to the Plateau Bloggers and online Media, Nammy Social Skin Glow, a brand’s primary product, uses natural oils like avocado, almond, and jojoba to nourish and fresh up the skin, ensuring a beautiful glow.
Naomi’s skincare philosophy focuses on empowering women to feel confident in their natural beauty, targeting common conditions like hyperpigmentation and dry skin with products like Body Scrub and Hand Softening Cream.
Naomi faced numerous challenges in the competitive beauty industry, including criticism and discouragement, but persevered despite the obstacles.
Her advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is rooted in her own experiences. “Connect with people who have done it before. Sometimes you can start by selling someone’s products and then create your own with the profits you make. I’m always open to helping others start their journey,” Naomi encouraged.
Milcah Merji, commonly known as Millie, praised Nammy Social skincare products, emphasising her exclusive use of them. Prior to becoming an Ambassador, she solely used Blue Seal products, but she has been really pleased with Nammy Social oil.
Millie commended the oil and other products for their ability to improve the skin’s natural radiance without bleaching, emphasising how they highlight the natural complexion.
She revealed that, despite having dark complexion, her skin has never looked better, describing it as “melanin popping.” Millie recommended Nammy Social products because they are excellent at improving skin health and attractiveness without changing skin tone.
Renowned Nollywood actor, Augustine Gilbert Gotar, often known as Ajehbor, showed significant support for a skincare product introduction aimed at preserving healthy skin rather than changing skin tone.
He emphasised that in society, skincare is typically viewed as largely for women, but he feels it should be available to everyone.
Ajehbor appreciated Naomi’s approach, pointing out that most skincare businesses focus on face lightening, however Naomi’s product encourages natural skin tones.
He emphasised the significance of this for Africans and Nigerians, who might gain self-esteem and confidence in their natural skin colour.
Ajehbor also pointed out that in the entertainment industry, there is a preference for lighter skin, leading many to tone their skin. He argued that with proper skincare, people can feel confident and proud of their natural complexion. Ultimately, Ajehbor stressed that skincare is not just for women but is essential for everyone.
