Transition Committee Chairman of Riyom Local Government, Sati Shuwa has expressed his administration’s commitment to address the longstanding issue of unreliable power supply across Riyom and environs.
The Chairman stated this while inspecting the installation of the 150 mm2 High-tension Cables at Ganawuri which was vandalized in 2016.
While inspecting the project, the Transition Committee Chairman explained that on assumption of office, he discovered that Riyom and Ganawuri districts had been for a long without electricity due to the vandalization of the 33kv line around the Ganawuri axis.
He said he engaged the Plateau State Ministry for Water Resources and Energy for advice on restoring light in the affected areas.
Inspecting the level of work at the project site, Sati Shuwa expressed satisfaction with the quality of work done so far, by the Committee handling it.
He underscored the significance of the project to his administration and the Socioeconomic well-being of the local populace.
The Transition Committee Chairman advised members of the Communities who are direct beneficiaries to maintain them.
The Chairman assured the people that the present administration in the Local Government will continue to initiate projects that are in line with the vision and mission of the present administration of Governor Caleb Mutfwang.
On his part, Engineer Silas Pyaghar explained that the 33Kv line undergoing rehabilitation starts from Kwol in Basa Local Government to Ganawuri and Riyom districts.
Pyaghar who is the site Engineer and a Director with the Plateau State Ministry of Water Resources and Energy assured the Transition Committee Chairman of their readiness to complete the project within the specified timeline.
Meanwhile, the Transition Committee Chairman of Riyom Local Government, Sati Shuwa has pledged his readiness to continue to collaborate with groups and individuals who are ready to contribute towards the peace and development of the Area.
Sati Shuwa stated this while in the audience with a Non-Governmental Organization known as the Community Accountability Forum (CAF) which paid him a courtesy visit.
The Chairman, while appreciating the visit urged them to continue to support Governor Caleb Mutfwang to succeed in bringing development to their doorsteps.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Forum and the Ataa Atten of Ganawuri Yakubu Chaimang told the Chairman that they were in his place to rejoice with him on his appointment by Governor Caleb Mutfwang.
The Ataa Atten explained that the Community Accountability Forum (CAF) was initiated by Equal Access International and Clean Foundation for awareness of early warning and response to mitigate occurrences of crisis and attacks in Riyom Communities.
The Forum appointed the Chairman as its Patron and assured him of support and cooperation to enable him to succeed in his assignment.
Community Accountability Forum comprises all the Security heads in Riyom as well as Christians and Muslims in the area.
