An NGO, Triple Nexus Consult on Tuesday trained stakeholders in Plateau on conflict transformation and peace building.
Mrs Ada Ochaja, the Executive Director of the organisation said that the training was organised in collaboration with Institute of Global Negotiation and supported by the Swiss Embassy in Nigeria.
She said that training aimed at bridging existing gaps and promote collaboration among stakeholders towards ensuring peaceful communities.
“We decided to organise a one-day training for stakeholders to be able to think beyond the division we are currently experiencing.
“We are here to think of collaborative ways to ensure that the communities we live in peace and harmony.
“We want to see a more united community where individuals relate, possibly not as it used to be, but at least better than where we’re coming from.
“The division we are experiencing on the Plateau is quite challenging and we are here to fashion out best ways of addressing them,”she said.
The executive director explained that the training provided opportunity for participants to share experiences that had traumatised them in the past.
She that training had community leaders, security personnel, journalists, religious leaders, among others as participants.
