Senator Pam Dachungyang Mwadkon, representing Plateau North Senatorial District, has extended major support to his constituents through an empowerment program aimed at improving livelihoods across the region. The event, held at Langfield Event Center in Jos, featured the distribution of cash grants, fertilizers, tricycle trucks, hand sprayers, and a special training session on animal husbandry.
The initiative brought together beneficiaries from different communities, reflecting the senator’s commitment to reducing economic hardship and promoting self-reliance among the people of Plateau North.

The initiative, according to the senator, was designed to cushion the harsh economic realities faced by many citizens and to promote self-reliance across communities in Plateau North.
“It is with joy and I’m really excited to see you on this occasion, particularly as it marks yet another historic day in my life for us and the whole people of Plateau North. In the face of the challenging realities that all of us are currently passing through and I believe this initiative will help alleviate the pains of many of our constituents.”
Senator Dachungyang noted that human capacity development remains one of his key priorities in the Senate, stressing that empowerment programs would continue to be part of his agenda.
“I don’t brag about it; I don’t escalate it, but it’s God’s given opportunity for me to do the right thing. Those that are lucky will go and tell the story for me. You can remember around this time last year I empowered some people on poultry farming and then other activities. Recently a skill acquisition centre has been built in Riyom but not yet operational it is my joy to tell you that many good things are coming.”
He assured the people that more interventions are on the way, especially with the soon-to-be-opened skill acquisition center in Riyom, aimed at training youths in various trades.

One of the facilitators, Quantity Surveyor Daniel Mutfwang, applauded the senator’s consistency in empowering his constituents through practical and life-changing projects.
“I’m privileged to witness this occasion, the second of its kind. Last year it was held; I wasn’t around but to my knowledge over 900 bags of fertilizer were shared and today we are seeing a bigger improvement and I believe next year will be bigger by the grace of God.”

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Plateau State, Hon. Bitrus Boyi, described the initiative as people-focused and urged citizens to support the party’s welfare-driven programs.
“Alongside the training program palliatives given at the event included 22 tricycle trucks, 70 hand held sprayers, 500 bags of fertilizer and N100 thousand naira cash grants to about a 100 beneficiaries.”
Senator Dachungyang, who also chairs the Senate Committee on Tourism, listed his contributions at the National Assembly, including job facilitation and active membership in 19 committees.
He acknowledged the increasing demands from constituents but promised to continue delivering meaningful projects that directly impact lives across Plateau North.
